Adding a whitelisted (private) charging card to your charging point
1. Go to โCharging Cardsโ in the portal
Log in to your Wattify portal via mijn.wattify.be. In the left-hand menu, click on Charging Cards under the Main Menu section. You will now see an overview of all existing charging cards in your account, with columns for name, RFID tag number, activation status and creation date.
Screen: Charging Cards โ List Overview page showing all charging cards, with the โCreate Charging Cardโ button in the top right-hand corner
*For a new account, the list will be empty. You can get started straight away by clicking the green โCreate Charging Cardโ button in the top right-hand corner.
2. Click the green โCreate charging cardโ button in the top right-hand corner. The creation form opens with three tabs at the top: Details, Settings and Advanced.
The form opens automatically on the โDetailsโ tab, which contains the mandatory basic information about the charging card.
Screen: Create charging card โ โDetailsโ tab Form with fields: Name*, RFID*, Email*, Registration number, Owner (Customer / Employer / Ownersโ Association)
3. On the โDetailsโ tab, complete the following fields:
Field | Description | |
Name | A recognisable name for the charging card, e.g. โJanโs Badgeโ or โReception Charging Cardโ | Required |
RFID | The unique badge number of the charging card (printed on the card itself). Your charging station reads this number upon contact. | Required |
The userโs email address for any session notifications | Required | |
Vehicle registration number | Vehicle registration number โ for internal records only | Optional |
Customer / Employer / Ownersโ Association | Link the charging card to an owner in the system (useful for split billing) | Optional |
*Tip โ Finding the RFID number: The RFID number is usually printed on the back of the badge (e.g. an 8- or 14-digit hexadecimal code). Does your charging station have a learning mode? If so, you can also scan the badge directly without having to enter the number.
4. Click on the Settings tab. Here you will find one option:
Email after charging session โ Toggle this on if you want the user to automatically receive an email as soon as a charging session is completed.
Screen: โSettingsโ tab Toggle: โEmail after charging sessionโ โ disabled by default
The โSettingsโ tab offers the option to enable or disable email notifications after each charging session.
5. Select โLOCALโ as the authorisation method โ this is the whitelist setting
This is the key step for a whitelisted charging card. Click on the Advanced tab.
You will see the โAuthorisationโ field with a drop-down menu. Here, you can specify how your charging station verifies the badge.
Screen: โAdvancedโ tab โAuthorisationโ field with drop-down menu โ โNETWORK (Allow on Wattify network)โ selected by default
The โAdvancedโ tab with the โAuthorisationโ field. Click on the drop-down menu to change the mode.
Clickon the drop-down menu and select LOCAL (Whitelist only). Your charging station will then store the badge ID locally and only allow that badge โ even without an internet connection.
6. Save and check
Click โCreateโ at the bottom to save the charging card.
Would you like to create a second one straight away? Then click on โCreate & create newโ โ the form will remain open and blank for the next charging card.
Screen: Charging card created The new charging card appears in the overview with a green tick next to โActiveโ
Once saved, the new charging card will appear in your overview. You can always make changes via โEditโ.
The charging card has been created and is active! Your charging station will automatically receive the badge configuration. It may take up to a few minutes for the setting to take effect at the charging station itself.
